To kill ants mix 2 parts borax with 1 part powdered sugar. To clean windows and mirrors, first remove surface sur-face soil with tissue or soft cloth. Then apply one of the following cleaning liquids with a soft cloth or sponge: Add 2 T. white vinegar to 1 quart of warm water, (for water spots no outside windows Add 4 T. household ammonia am-monia to 1 quart of warm water. In freezing weather, use 1 T. glycerine or rubbing alcohol in 1 quart warm water. This prevents steaming or freezing. HINT: To remove burned food from oven place small ' cloth saturated with amonia in oven overnight. Food can then be easily wiped up. If it's time to replace that old broom, here's a neat idea. Dip a new broom in hot salt water before using. Then let dry. This will toughen the bristles and make it last longer. Spring time also means paint time and you might want to try this goodie. Coat hands with vaseline before starting to paint and it will be easier to remove paint from hands. j Other helpful hints: Use white vinegar for 12th Ward. Nothing's better than a warm doughnut, but if you're housecleaning you probably don't have time for all that mixing, rolling, and cutting. Try this! Fast Doughnuts 1 can (or 2 or 3 or 4) of refrigerated biscuit dough. Open the can, separate the biscuits, cut out holes in the center, and deep fry in a pan of grease. Doughnuts may then be covered with a glaze or chocolate icing. What faster way can you get fresh warm doughnuts-10 for 21 cents no less! Thank's Kathie!
