Show Jl Summit 1. By Donna Davenport The Summit Culinary Water Users Company, Inc. held its annual membership meeting Wed. evening April 12. with a representative from a Salt Lake City engineering firm there to speak about improvement of the water system. An election was also held and a new board of directors installed with Fred Whicker as president, Leo Thompson and Mrs. Jack Hammond the newly elected members. Re-elected were past president Merle M. Alltona and Alma Lawrence. Members retiring from the board were Delos Dalton, Delia G. Farrow and Cornell Hollinger. The primary organization presented their annual program in Sacrament meeting last Sunday afternoon af-ternoon with Counselor Mrs. Cornell Hollinger in charge. A very fine program was given in song and the spoken word. Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Hollinger and five children represented the happy, family and sang about it. Those giving speaking parts were Curtis Whicker, Lee Allton, Russell Condie, Erin Hammond, Raymond Allton, Cindy White and Jill Rowley. All the young people from the Jr. Sunday School and Primary sang a number of songs accompanied by Mrs. Marc Allton and Miss Raelyn Lawrence and directed by Mrs. Alma Lawrence. Mr. and Mrs. James Prince and Denise are home after spending most of the week in San Diego, Calif, with Mr. Prince's father, Mr. Herbert Prince and other family members. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Westwood and daughter of Circleville were weekend visitors at the home of Renee's folks, the James Prince's. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Farrow and Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Walker are home after a weeks stay in St. George doing temple work. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Farrow enjoyed overnight guests at their home. Mr. Wallace Brown and his father of Kayenta, Arizona. Wallace spent several years here as an Indian Placement student. He is married now and the father of two children and at present his wile is teaching school at Kayenta. Mrs. Darryl Davenport and three young children accompanied her brother SIJSC student Kevin Porter to Escalante for a three days stay with their folks, the Vergean Porters. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stapley onjoyed a recent trip to Bountiful with their son Joe and family members of Big Pine, Calif, where they visited another son and family. the Michael Stapleys. Young Kenny Paul Lamoreaux was here from Parowan to visit great j grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ted Fife. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Davenport, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Whicker and Mrs. Ted Fife were in Paragonah last Sat. for the open house honoring twins Clark and Clari Lamoreaux on their 60th birthday. The Jay Davenports also visited Mrs. Melva Barton while there and were happy to see their nephew, Brad Lamoreaux who was recently released from the army after a tour of duty in Korea and a lengthy stay in Texas and Missouri. Many ward members enjoyed the reception honoring the members of the Enoch Wards who are now in a new stake. The reception, program and dance sponsored spon-sored by the Parowan Stake was held at the Parowan High School last Saturday evening. Friday evening a number of the Ward High Priests and their wives attended a Stake meeting and social in Parowan hosted by the Third Ward High Priests. Young April Wetzel, daighter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wetzel is home following surgery for appendicitis ap-pendicitis in the Valley View Medical Center. |
