Show PHS Drama Students com pete at Dixie PAROWAN - PHS Drama Coach Reed Lynn Turner, and the members of his Drama Department will travel to Dixie College April 18 and 19 to compete in the Region 8 Drama and in-terpetation in-terpetation meet for 1978. The pantomime division of the competition will consist of 3 to 6 minutes for each act only words allowed will be exclamations of "oh" and "ah" students entering this part of the contest are Rocky Patterson, Mike Webb, Diane Gurr, Bryan Mount, Anita Green and Steve Decker. Scenes from plays are limited to 10 minutes and involve 2 to 5 participants in each. Students in this are Carl Barton, Todd Robinson, Holly Dalton, Stan Benson, Rick Robinson, Wayne Moss, Laura Bryant, Bret Matheson, Kay Dell Orton, Natalie Van Nest, Bill Moss and Tammy Robinson. The retold story time limit is also 10 minutes. This is similar to the extemporaneous ex-temporaneous speaking event in Forensics meets. Students entering are Jerry Patterson, Lynna Rowley, Jeanne Evans, Jeanette Hermansen, Tammy Robinson and Sydnee Stevens. Monoacting is a 4 to 10 minute performance with one person taking the part or role of one person, but acting and reacting as though other characters are present. Chad Hulet, Wendy Stubbs, Tony Moss, DeAnn Robinson, Blair Bentley and Scott Freeborn will compete in this catagory. Humerous and Dramatic Readings are each limited to 7 to 12 minutes and may be either a monologue or a dialogue. The reading may be a published or original work. Students entering this are Mark Barton, Lisa Robinson, Robin-son, Linda Robinson, Tom Haycock, Trent Borden, Raelyn Lawrence, April Evans, Beverly Robinson, Nicole Adams, Cecilia Adams, Susan Bayles and Laynette Gurr. One act plays are allowed to go 30 minutes. Carolyn White and Daryl Jones will enter this part of the competition com-petition with the play (Sex does not a marriage make. ) The PHS Drama Dept. did very well last year in region ana state competition and are expected to excejl again this year with many of the same students competing. |
