Show Gail Bentley, James Burns united in Wedding Ceremony ;- ., o -it-" "Ml PAROWAN - On April 1, 1978 Miss Gail Bentley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garry Bentley of Parowan, married Mr. James B. (Jim) Burns, son of Judge and Mrs. J. Harlan Burns of Cedar City. Father of the groom, Judge Burns, officiated of-ficiated at the ceremony held at the home of the bride's parents. A reception honoring the newlyweds was held that same evening in the Parowan High School Commons. The bride was beautiful in a gown of ivory crepe with sheer white overlay. Hand embroidered Belgian lace covered a front panel, sheer sleeves, scalloped nickline, and chapel train added to the gown's elegance. The long veil of ivory illusion had a headpiece covered with yellow roses, stephanotis, and baby breath. The gown was custom designed and made for the bride by Marthanne Larson of Orem. The bouquet consisted of MR. AND MRS. JAMES BURNS and served by Jayne Bentley, Ben-tley, the bride's aunt, with help from sisters-in-law Mrs. Clinton (Patty) Bentley and Mrs. Chuck (Anne) Bentley. Valynne Bentley was in charge of the gifts, assisted by Mrs. Ted (Charla) Cooke, Michelle, Natalie, and Trisha Bentley. Music for the wedding was furnished by Vyonne Chamberlain, for the reception by Annette White and Janeal Stubbs at the piano with Simon Bronson singing. Judge and Mrs. Burns held an Open House for the young couple on April 8 in Marysvale, at the Community Com-munity Center. There was a short program, followed by dancing and a buffet. Showers were given for the bride by Michelle and Adele Decker in Cedar City and by the Lady Faculty organization where the bride teaches in Spanish Fork. Gail is a graduate of Parowan High School. She attended Utah State University and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She attended the University of the Americas at Puebla, Mexico, then graduated from Southern Utah State College. She is currently teaching English at Spanish Fork High School. Jim graduated from Cedar High School and Southern Utah State College. He is currently employed in Marysvale. The newlyweds are making their home in Marysvale (although Gail will continue to teach in Spanish Fork until the end of the school year). yellow roses, stephanotis, and three white orchids. Attending the bride were her sister and cousin, Mrs. Larry (Kristen) Robinson and Mrs. Steven (Monalee) Jager. They were very pretty in dresses of sheer polyester single knit prints of yellow, spring green, and apricot flowers. The dresses were styled with a wide neckline ruffle which became a cape in back and full skirts. They carried large nosegays of yellow daisies and baby breath. Standing as best man for the groom was his brother Joseph H. Burns III. Ushers included Scott and Zachary Burns, brothers, and Lewis Chamberlain, Larry La Franz, and Phillip Brown. The bride's mother wore a floor length gown of spring green quiana, while the groom's mother's gown was burnt apricot quiana. Both wore corsages of yellow roses. Wedding party members were hosted by Judge and Mrs. Burns at a luncheon at the Swiss Village in Parowan before the ceremony. After the ceremony, the bride's paretns, Mr. and Mrs. Garry Bentley, hosted a buffet supper for the wedding party. The reception was tuned to spring by the use of hundreds hun-dreds of yellow dffodils, yellow and white daisies, white garden furniture and lattice work. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. N. Merton Mitchell of Las Vegas. The guest book was attended by Leilani Wilson of Long Beach, California, with Misti Bentley assisting. The wedding cake was cut |
