Show Stacie Eagar in Hill Cumorah Pageant begin nightly at nine. The outdoor Pageant unfolds on 25 stages by a cast 6- Stacia Eagar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren B. Smith of Cedar City, has been selected as a cast member for the upcoming "Hill Cumorah Pageant" to be held in Palmyra, New York July 27, 28, 31, and Aug. 1-4. Stacia Eagar was selected from hundreds of applicants from across the United States and Canada to perform per-form in the world famous pageant, which was termed, "America's most elaborate religious Pageant" by the New York Times. Stacia is a graduate of . Cedar City High School and is currently attending SUSC. She has participated in music, drama, and leadership positions. The Pageant draws over 140,000 viewers annually, according to Marvin R. Curtis, President of the New York Rochester Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), (Mor-mon), which sponsors the Pageant. A five-track sound system has been composed by Dr. Crawford Gates, conductor of the Beloit (Wisconsin) Symphony Orchestra. The Pageant tells the story of a young man growing up in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State, who was visited by a heavenly messenger and directed to the engraven golden records that tell the history of the ancient people of the American Continent their struggles and triumphs. The story of the ancient people were dramatized, starting with their journey to America from Jerusalem in 600 BC. The central message of t the Pageant is taht Jesus Christ, having completed his ministry in the Holy Land, appeared to the people of the Western world after His crusifixion and resurrection. The Book of Mormon, taken from records of the civilization, records the history of the people. |
