Show Unpaid Health Bills Continue toRise atVVMC Gloria Taylor, collector for accounts ac-counts payable at the Valley View Medical Center, presented $5,470.18 in indigent health care bills to the Iron County Commission for payment last week. At their last meeting in June, Taylor presented bills totaling over $7,000 to the commission for payment. The county is required by state law to pay the bills since funds form other than county government sources were used to help build the hospital. The County Clerk said that only $176 was left in the budget for payment of such bills and that the county did not have the funding for payment of the present bills. The commissioners voted not to pay the bills and discussed holding a public meeting to reopen the budget or the possibility of waiting for the new budget in Jan. to pay the bills. |
