Show Hazard Recognition Workshop at SUSC A workshop on Hazard Recognition Training for employees, employers and safety personnel in business and industry, will be held Thursday at Southern Utah State College. The workshop will be held from9:30a.m. -4 p.m. in the Old Administration Building, room 204. It is being offered free of charge to all interested persons. Red Merrell, an expert in the health and safety field, will be the workshop instructor. in-structor. Merrell recently retired from Geneva Steel after working 32 years as the safety officer at the Orem plant. "The topic of the day-long workshop will be Workers Rights and Mechanical Safeguarding," Daphne Dalley, SUSC coordinator of conferences and workshops, said. A similar workshop will be held Wednesday in St. George. The program is part of a multi-faceted Hazard Recognition Training Program developed by Snow College and the Utah Technical Colleges in Provo and Salt Lake City as a result of requests and inquiries from business and industry about the particulars par-ticulars of safety training. "The workshop has been designed to meet the needs of employers; to help develop safe working environments en-vironments which lead to employee satisfaction and greater productivity; and to help employers relieve themselves of burdensome federal pressures," Dalley said.
