Show Illegal Development brings Fines Iron County Attorney James Shumate reported to the Iron County Planning Commission last week that fines totalling $23,920 will be paid to the county this year in illegal subdivision development. Arnold Gurr, who was charged t with selling lots illegally at Brian Head, has been fined $10,465 and Floyd Rigby makes up the balance of the fines for illegal land sales. Commission Chairman Howard Nelson has agreed with Denise Greenlaw of the State Department of Business Regulations that Rigby should send a notice to all buyers in his illegal sales notifying them and giving them the choice of having their money refunded or keeping their property. The commission had viewed the proposed site on June 11. MUNCHING LUNCHERS The Munching Lunchers 4-H 4-H Club enjoyed camping at Deer Haven on July 9 and 10. The club won first place for "Camp Identification" and first place for "Dutch Oven Cooking". They made a pot roast with vegetables, biscuits and a pineapple upside-down cake. They won an honorable mention for their skit. They recently had fun helping to clean up the new city park for the community service project. They are looking forward to the 4-H exhibit and demonstration days in August. The "Lunchers" are: Tanja Dunaway, Sheri Graf, Leslie Heath, Lori Anne Snaders, Heather Williams, Lynette Cammack and Camille Stone. Leaders are Donna Heath, Lynette Bradshaw and Leanne Bradshaw. |
