Show Two Leagues Wind Up Play In Women's Bowling Top efforts in women's I !( oowiing leagues during tne past week produced a tie for the top game with both Emily Vande Mheen and Lura Stap-ley Stap-ley posting games of 222. Emily, however, walker off with the series honors with an outstanding 612. Bowler of the week honors went to Evelyn Jones with a handicap series of 677. Mrs. Vande Mheen rolled her high scores in the Thursday Thurs-day Morning Koffee League. Team highs Included a 636 game by the Sleeping Bags and the Nine Pins rolled the high series with a 1748. The league was completed Thursday Thurs-day and first place honors went to "The Mels" whose team members are Marie Nelson, Nel-son, Lil Hazel, and Evelyn Brazier. High game for the season was a 248, rolled by both Lil Hazel and Marie Memmott. Mrs. Memmott ended up with the high series 1 Of the season with a 580 effort. The Strikette League also! completed their league season Monday with First Security Bank taking first place. Members Mem-bers of the winning team are Alice Tuckett, Marion Arns, Jane Adams, and Sally Hurley. Hur-ley. High game for the season sea-son was a 215 rolled by Kaye Neilson ond a 602 series was tops in that department and went to Mrs. Neilson as well. Ill the final week's action Ruth Webb had the high cf. forts with a 20G game and 5S9 series. Hunter Hardware including Marie Memmott, j Ruth Webb, Jerry Berry, andj Todd Lambeth had the team highs, including an 854 game, and 2428 series. It was in the Alley Katts League that Lura Stapley roll-ed roll-ed her high game of 22 andj she also posted the top series with a 598 and paced herj team, KSUB, fo team highs J of 859 and 2450. Other mem-1 bers of the team are Evelyn ; Jones, LaRue Morris, and Dorothy Wood. In the Queen Pins League Tana Corlett had the indi-j vidual highs with a 214 gamej I and 533 series. Other games ' over 200 included a 205 by Vivian Parks and a 200 by Ramona Burns. Team high game of 832 was rolled by the Fire Dept. and Cedar Glass posted the series team high with a 2264. |
