Show Government Aid Sought On Mission Park When the goal for purchase ' of the Gronway Parry collec- j tion is reached the develop-1 ment of the Iron Mission Park site will be of prime importance. import-ance. The Bureau of Outdoor Recreation has a fine plan whereby money is available on a 50-50 matching basis for projects of this sort. Money is obtained by the Bureau by sale of the $7 "Golden Passport" Federal Recreation Re-creation Area Permit and other Federal recreation fees, sales of surplus Federal property, and the Federal motorboat fuels tax. This is not a poverty pov-erty program but money into which nearly every citizen has paid. The project must be in accord ac-cord with the State's comprehensive compre-hensive statewide outdoor recreation re-creation plan. The participant must agree to permanent dedication de-dication of assisted projects to . public outdoor recreation use . and be responsible for operation oper-ation and maintenance. There have been 41 areas in the State of Utah that have been ; developed under this plan but only one South or Fillmore. Fill-more. This money cannot be used for purchase of the collection nor a building in which to house it. It may be used for picnic areas, camp sites, and Park should qualify as an beautification in general. Certaintly the Iron Mission outdoor recreation area can be eligible for a grant under this program. |
