Show Teachers of English To Hold Workshop in State The Utah Council of Teachers Teach-ers of English will sponsor two Saturday workshops, April Ap-ril 8 and 15, on the Teaching of Composition in the Public Schools. Sites for the workshops will include College of Southern Utah and Weber State College at Ogden. All Utah English teachers are invited to attend, according accord-ing to Dr. Kenneth E. Eble, chairman of the Department of English at the University of Utah and president of the council. The first workshop will be held at Weber State College on Saturday, April 9. On Saturday, Sat-urday, April 15, the workshop will be conducted, on the CSU campus in Cedar City. Both are scheduled from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. The fee is $1 for council members and $2 for non-members. Chairman of the CSU program pro-gram is Eugene Woolf, associate as-sociate professor of English and Speech at CSU. Subjects will include "Writing in the Elementary Grades," "Poetry and Writing (Junior High)," and "Writing in the High School." Speakers include Dr. Edward Ed-ward Lueders, University of Utah; Dr. Gwyn Clark of the College of Southern Utah; and Phil Herbert of Granite School District. |
