In the junior division Jeff Adamr., Wooiward Junior High, St. George, took top it icr:; with his steam generator gener-ator and a demonstration ol the generation of electricity. Second place in the physical r.cience was awarded to Val Christenscn, Cedar City Junior High for experiments with the Tes.la Coil. First pla- m bioloey was a demonstration of "Ways to Preserve Food" by Larry Chat-t.jv Chat-t.jv Cedar City Junior High. Second place went to Ester Atkin and Jane Esplin, Woodward Wood-ward Junior High for an exhibit ex-hibit and demonstration of "Air Pollution." Some 22 exhibi's an 1 der.i-on-traUons were presented by high school and junior h'.Rh school students of the southern south-ern Utah region. Senior d'vision winner in biology with 'Effects of Se--raita Mercesions on Crickets" was Reed Reeve, Hurricane High School. The winner received re-ceived a full tuition scholarship scholar-ship to College of Southern Utah and will take his display dis-play to the state science fair in Provo next week. Reeve is a junior. Larry Eyre, Dixie High, produced pro-duced a winner in the physical physi-cal science division with working plans and a scale model production of a modernistic mod-ernistic house. Three certif- All participants in the fair received certificates and the winners also received medals ?-r ho!- efforts. This fair is an annual function of the Utah Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters. |
