Show ilnti-Tobacco Campaign Begins in Cedar Under the direction of the Cedar City Youth Council and with the cooperation of schools, law enforcement agncies, and physicians of the county, an effort has been made to caution youth about the ill effects of the use of tobacco to-bacco products. The Youth Council, under the chairmanship of Elwood Corry and Clifton Chatterley, has undertaken an educational education-al program to alert youth to the problems of tobacco use and to enlighten parents and businesses concerning their responsibilities with the problem. pro-blem. A presentation has been made at the Cedar Junior High School, Cedar High School and Parowan High School this week in connection with the program. Participants have included in-cluded Iron County Sheriff Ira Schoppman, Cedar City Cheif of Police Kent Hoyt, Highway Patrolman Gordon Farnsworth and physicians Dr. David Brown and Dr. LaMar Graff, Jr. In addition, a specially prepared pre-pared film pointing out the problems with tobacco use has been shown. Besides this direct appeal to young men and women, who under the law, are not allowed allow-ed to use or to possess tobacco products, the committee has distributed information to businesses who dispense tobacco to-bacco products to remind them of their responsibilities, under the law, not to sell to minors.
