Show Roger P. Gurr Claims Jae Jensen In Ceremony in St. George Temple A double-ring ceremony perlormed by President Rud-gar Rud-gar C. Atkln In the St. George LDS Temple united Miss Jae Jensen and Roger Parry Gurr in marriage. The vows were exchanged Saturday, March 18, and were followed by a reception In Cedar City in the Family Home Living Center at the College of Southern Utah. An old fashioned wedding theme was the motif expressed expres-sed in attire for the bride who wnro her mother's weddine Shannon and Miss Krlssie Smlely, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Smiely. Attending the bridegroom were groomsmen Jay Graff and Michael Smith. Ushers were brothers of the couple, Carlyle Gurr and Jerry and Terry Jensen. Dresses in pink and blue shades were worn by mothers of the couple and were accented accent-ed by matching white glam-elia glam-elia corsages with lily-of-tho-valley trim. The reception In Cedar City was hosted by the bride's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Al Jensen, former residents of this area who are now making their home in Lander, Wyoming. The bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gurr of Par-owan, Par-owan, hosted an after wed- Hlncr lilnhflnn fnr fnmilv gown designed from brocaded satin and fashioned to full length with lily-point sleeves and chapel train. Completing her ensemble was a beaded pearl tiara which secured an eggshell color fingertip veil matching the wedding dress color. The bridal bouquet was a cascading design made from a white orchid and split carnations. members and those who attended at-tended the temple ceremony. Acting as hostess at the reception was Mrs. Cay Broad-bent Broad-bent with Mr. and Mrs. An-tone An-tone Lambert as greeters. Guest book attendant was the bride's brother, Kip Jensen. Those helping in the gift room were Delia Gurr, Golda Guy-man, Guy-man, Ila Corry, aunts of the bridegroom along with Susan McDonough and Connie Long. Serving were Fern Amend, Genevieve Gardner, Winnona Cowan, Lois Taylor and Colleen Col-leen Gurr in addition to Linda Lin-da Murdock, Trudy Clark, Debbie and Kathie Gurr and Ellen Green. Bridal attendants wore street-length dresses of blue floral print featuring round necklines and puff sleeves ac cented with blue satin ribbon giving an empire appearance. Their accessories were white gloves and shoes with nose gays made from daisies and pom-poms matching flower headpieces. Maid of honor was the bridegroom's sister, Miss Janet Gurr, while bridesmaids brides-maids were Miss Sharron Green and Mrs. Michael Smith. Flower girls were pr tite cousins of the bride, Miss Entertainment during the nuptial party included musical mus-ical numbers by Mrs. Berle Smiely accompanied by Mrs. LaVona Jensen. Table decor expressed the old fashioned theme with centerpiece table arrangements of spring flowers flow-ers clustered around antique style water vases with holders. hold-ers. The newlyweds departed for a honeymoon trip to Treasure ! Mountain Inn at Park uty, ' Utah. The bride wore a light blue velveteen double breast-'. breast-'. ed suit with elbow-length sleeves. Her accessories were navy blue. Following the honeymoon trip the couple will make their home in Cedar City where Mr. Gurr is a student at the College of Southern Utah. The bride is a graduate of Cedar City High School and a former College of Southern Utah student. She has been employed in Lander, Wyoming Wyom-ing since moving there last summer. Her husband graduated grad-uated from Parowan High School, served on a mission in Texas and is a member of the Utah National Guard. He is presently in his junior year at College of Southern Utah. Pro-nuptial parties were given in Lander, Wyoming by Mrs. Wayne Downs who invited in-vited friends and associates with whom Miss Jensen has worked while employed at MacRae's Drug and by the bride's mother who invited fifty mothers and daughters to a trousseau tea. |
