Show Special Plans Made For Scouts For Month of April Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will look to the out-of-doors for their April program themes, it was announced today to-day by Glenn Ostler, District Scout Executive of the Utah National Parks Council, Boy Scouts of America. Mountains of America will be the theme for the Cub Scout Packs in this area while the Boy Scout Troops will emphasize em-phasize "A Better Place to Live" with week end conservation conser-vation camps and conservation conserva-tion projects as the climax of the month's activities. Ostler explained, "Our enjoyment en-joyment of life is in proportion propor-tion to our ability to understand under-stand and appreciate the things around us. If we can appeal to the sense of wonder In boys and help them to a greater love and appreciation of beauty and the marvels of nature, we can give them values val-ues that will last a lifetime." Local conservationists are cooperating with the districts of the Council to assist Boy Scout troops in selecting major ma-jor projects and to give Scouts an opportunity to complete conservation advancements for the Star and Life ranks and for the Conservation of Natural Natur-al Resources merit badge. April activities in the Utah National Parks Council will also feature the Scout-O-Ree on the 1st from 4 to 8 p. m. at the BYU Fieldhouse; annual an-nual fellowship banquet, 27th, 6:45 at the BYU Wilkinsen Center; Order of the Arrow (service project) Camp-O-Ree the 14th and 15th at Capital Reef National Monument; and a merit badge round-up along with Scoutmaster basic training train-ing co-sponsored by Dixie College Col-lege at St. George on April 15, 22, and 29.
