Show City Chamber of Commerce Plans Membership Drive, Public Meet A membership drive and a general membership meeting nave been announced by Tom Brown, president of t he Cedar City Chamber of Commerce. The board of directors of the Chamber has set a goal of $10,000 to bo derived from membership dues and a kick-off kick-off breakfast has been planned plan-ned for Wednesday, April 5 to initiate the program. The clutch breakfast will be held at Atkin's Sugar Loaf Cafe at 7 a. m. at which time assignments as-signments will be made and members will donate their time to call on all members, Individual and business, and prospective members of the Chamber of Commerce for the 1967 year. On Thursday the Chamber will sponsor an open meeting ! at which representatives of the State Highway Department Depart-ment will be in attendance. The meeting will be held at noon at Sullivan's El Rey Cafe and all interested persons are invited to attend. Specific discussions on the agenda will include Interstate Inter-state highway construction programs in the area as well as the Cedar City Main Street access of Interstate 15, and improvements though the city from the South and the North Interchange. Brown indicated that all businesses in the community would be contacted and individual in-dividual memberships will be stressed. He pointed out that the Chamber of Commerce can function only to the extent of the financial support derived from memberships and that programs outlined for the year will require full cooperation. Suggestions on possible Chamber activities and undertakings under-takings will also be appreciated appreciat-ed and considered, he stated. |
