Show National Guard Calls Parowan Men to Camp When the 2nd Howitzer Battalion Bat-talion of the 222 Artillery of the Utah National Guard took off for Camp Williams at Jordan Narrows last week end, 16 Parowan Paro-wan men were among those go ing for the two week training period. , . ., Heading the Parowan contingent conting-ent is Col. Max S. Dalley battalion bat-talion commander. Other Parowan Paro-wan members of headquarters battery are Sgt. Sheldon Smith, Sgt. Larry Eyre, Sgt Gary Miller, Sgt. Robert Evans, Spec. Lloyd Benson, Sp. Roderick Lister, Sp. Frank M. Adams, Sp. Ross Birch, Sp. Wayne Mortensen, Sp. Jerry Ward and Sp. Robert Wasden. Parowan members in Special Det Batty. C, are Sgt. Charles O. Smith, Pfc. Philip Bayles, Pfc. Kenneth Decker, Pfc. Scott Holyoak. Holy-oak. Another Parowan man, Lt. James L. Benson, left for Camp Williams on the week end with the Beaver Battery of the 222nd Battalion, of which he is the commander. And with the end of school five young men liom the 19G4 graduating class at Parowan High School, who had enlisted In the National Guard under the six-month training program, left for their initial training at Fort Ord, Calif. They were Melvin Bryant, Mike Hyatt, Leon Adams, Lannle Reese and Ronald Decker. |
