They defeated Winterrose 13 to 10 and handed Utah Puks their first loss, 5 to 4. Against Winterrose 12 hits produced pro-duced 13 runs, including a home run by Ryan Chamberlain and . a double by Wade Roberts. Kevin Ke-vin Hunter started on the mound for Cal. Pac. with Roberts coming ! on in relief and Dale Hatch fin-1 ishing up. Randy Clove was j charged with the loss. Fred Liv- ermore also saw action. Clove i belted out a home run and two doubles in the action. Jerry Jensen Jen-sen added a double and Liver-more Liver-more had a triple for the losers, i Three runs on a single hit in j the first inning of play turned j out to be the difference Monday j when Cal.-Pac. defeated Utah Parks 5 to 4. Cal.-Pac. had only three hits Including a double by i Dale Hatch. Utah Parks had four , singles. Hatch went the distance , to pick up the victory. Wayne ' Esplin started for Utah Parks ( but gave way in the first inning to Gaylen Heyborne who finished the game. Hatch had 14 strikeouts. strike-outs. Heyborne was credited with thirteen. 1 Utah Construction stayed in a tie for second place with two victories vic-tories during the week. Utah C. belted eight hits, all singles, 1 against Winterrose to win 4 to 3 then came back Tuesday evening with 11 hits to score 9 runs and defeated State Bank 9 to 7. Allen Bratton was the winner over Winterrose. Fred Livermore suffered suf-fered the loss. Jerry Jensen and Paul Steinfel hit doubles for Winterrose in a losing cause. Steve Lunt picked up the win for UC over State Bank allowing seven hits and contributing a home run to the cause. Scott Lunt had a perfect evening at the plate with four hits in four trips including a double for the winners and Ronald Clark doubled. dou-bled. Raymond Gardner of State Bank also doubled. Kim Mathe-son Mathe-son and Greg McMullin shared mound duties for the losers. In other action of the week Utah Parks collected 11 hits, including in-cluding five doubles, to defeat State Bank 10 to 6. Wayne Esplin Es-plin held State Bank to three hits. State Bank sent Roger Hair, Kim Matheson and Greg McMullin McMul-lin to the mound. Gaylen Heyborne hit two doubles dou-bles and Esplin, Burnell Thorley and Mike Thompson each added doubles to the winning effort. Four hits and four runs in the first frame for Utah Parks got the victors off to a flying start. |
