Show Six Little League Teams Named, Officers Are Chosen With George B. Loosley being officially named as chairman of the Little League baseball program pro-gram in the Parowan area, at the Monday night meeting of the city council, it has now been announced an-nounced that an organization of officers has been named, and six teams have been organized and are practicing getting ready for opening of play later this month. Mr. Loosely had gone ahead with the organization of the league, and has made the first moves to Join up with the Na-ional Na-ional Little League Association according to members of the Loosley family. Mr. Loosley Is president of the local organization with Kenne:h Simklns, vice president; Harold Schweppe, treasurer, Jean Hendrickson, Hen-drickson, secretary, and Richard Kllenmark, player agent. This group now has six teams getting get-ting ready for play, and has arranged for the use of the high school diamond for the league games. Practice sessions are being be-ing held on the diamond on the southwest corner of the church square, we understand. The teams, sponsors and managers man-agers as listed by George Allen Loosley, son of the president: "Dodgers," sponsored by the Farmers Supply Co., with Ken Simklns, manager, "Giants," sponsored by American Legion Post No. 20, Carlyle Johnson manager; man-ager; "Tigers," sponsored by Tri-H Tri-H Club, Roy Benson manager; "Pirates", sponsored by Bank of Iron County, coach not definite; "Orioles," sponsored by Burton's 66, Fred Dalton, manager, and Paragonah Town team with Jim Taylor, manager. Teams will be for boys aged 9 through 12, with the I.ope that a senior division may be organized organ-ized later. Players are to be insured in-sured against injuries sustained in competition according to young Loosley. They will not be eligible to play In competition with other leagues this year but It is hoped that this can be done by next season. |
