Show Contest Nets Orton Ten-minute Spree At Parowan Merc. Things were rather lively at the Parowan Mercantile last Friday Fri-day morning at 9 o'clock we understand. un-derstand. Starting at nine and going for the next ten minutes Ralph Orton tried to clean out the grocery department of the store, and was very nearly successful suc-cessful in his endeavor, although he failed because of the time limit and because he just about gave out. It all came about when Ralph, by signing his name to an entry blank and mailing it, won fifth place In the Pepsi-Cola Sweepstakes Sweep-stakes contest. The fifth prize was all the groceries he could carry to the check stand in the store of his choosing in a ten minute period. And according to reports, Ralph did quite well for himself, loading up the check-stand check-stand counters with groceries and meats to the value of about $691 which included the tax, we are told While it was a very profitable ten minutes for Ralph, it was was also a good ten minutes for Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Arams, owners own-ers of the store, with the bill being be-ing paid for by the Pepsi-Cola Company. |
