Show KentW.Farnsworth Gets Call I To Cumorah Mission j . V:- KENT W. FARNSWORTH Kent W. Farnsworth, son of Dr. and Mrs. Reed W. Farnsworth, has been called to serve a two-year two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A farewell testimonial prior to his departure will be held Sunday, Sun-day, June 14, at 6:30 p. m. in the Cedar Second Ward chapel. Relatives Rela-tives anu friends are extended an invitation to attend. Farnsworth has been called to served in the Cumorah Mission with headquarters at Rochester, N. Y. He will enter the mission home in Salt Lake City on Monday, Mon-day, June 22. Farnsworth graduated Thursday Thurs-day evening, June 4 from the College of Southern Utah with honors. He was a 1962 graduate of Cedar High School, and also graduated from four years of LDS Seminary study. In high school he was active In athletics as a member of the football, basketball and track teams. He was also a vice president presi-dent of the Key Club, a representative represen-tative of the Boys' Organization and attended Boys' State. He was president of the LDS Seminary student body. At CSU he served as president of the Sigma Tau Slgrna, honor-ary honor-ary tutoring society and was accorded ac-corded the outstanding citizenship citizen-ship award this past year. Speakers at the testimonial will Include Leland Gentry, President Pres-ident Theron Ashcroft, Jerry Farnsworth, with remarks by the parents and a response by the missionary. Special musical selection will be a vocal solo by Floyd Rigby with Mrs. Nell Boyter playing prelude and postlude organ mu- . ale. , |
