The first Kiwanis peace marker was put in place by Michigan Kiwanians at the Ambassador Bridge which connects Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. This marker mark-er was set up on January 22, 1935, during ceremonies marking the 20th anniversary of the founding of Kiwanis. Other peace markers were set up by U. S. or Canadian clubs working singly, in pairs or in groups, as the years went by. Plans are currently in progress to set up additional markers before the end of 1956. |
