Show H. S. Track and Field Squad Fails i To Gamer BYU Points ' A small squad of Cedar High School Red men traveled to the Brigham Young Invitational track and field meet last Saturday Satur-day and found the competition rather tough. Coach Glen Jackson's thinclads failed to bring back a single medal me-dal - Six members' of the squad entered the 440 yard trial heats In the forenoon Saturday but only one, Bob Clark, was able to qualify for the finals in the afternoon. J In the trial heats Clark ran second to Keith Long of North Sevier to qualify in the fine j time of :52.2 seconds. In the finals fin-als In the afternoon, however, Clark did not place in the top five. In the mile relay the Cedar ! Redmen finished In fourth place. The team consisted of Clark, i Dayne Gardner, John Bentley I and Jimmy Thorley. j The Redmen track and field I squad has been working hard this week attempting to ready I and field meet which will be staged on the local track. AJthough the Redmen are few In numbers this season, Coach Jackson Indicates that some of the boys are developing and he expects them to pick up points in the regional event |
