Show AS I SEC IT I disagree with Pivld Lawrence's Law-rence's column where he stated and quote: "That Elsenhower had courage in vetoing the farm bill." I don't think It takes cour-age cour-age to follow up the program that the Eisnhowr administration administra-tion campaigned for In 1952, and that was to cheapen commodities which we all know is what the farmers and livestock men pro-duce. pro-duce. I am s'Ure Elsenhower and Benson have never Intended to help the fanner and livestock people. They Just wanted to pass the buck, and create dissension among Congress so that there wouldn't be any farm bill come out for the farmers. Howewer, I wasn't In favor of the farm bill, soli bank or any parity of flexible flexi-ble support. I am still in favor of a floor. If the government can put a celling on commodities' as It did In World War II then I think that It could put a floor under our commodities In time of distress. I congratulate our good governor gover-nor J. Bracken Lee. for seeking another term. He Is a good governor gov-ernor for a good government. I naw In the forum where Glendon Johnson criticizes Governor Lee for criticizing Eisenhower. He said that he belonged to the same party If Governor Lee had a party. In my opinion. Governor Gov-ernor Lee is Just one of the few Republicans left You know that it took Elsenhower better than six months to decide whether he was a Democrat or Republican. I still don't think that he chang-ed chang-ed his mind as Republicans don t believe In free trade nor in send-Ing send-Ing our hard earned tax money overseas on a good will mission.
