Show JUNIOR MUTES By Cynthia Williams This week the school is Just about like a bee hive, with activities ac-tivities galore! First of aJl the polls were opened at 9:00 this morning and students are voting for the party or the person of their choice. In the primaries, which were held last week, there were two students chosen for each office. One party, the "Lucky Star", has Lory Misel for president. Leigh Rosenberg for vice president. Bobette Bauer for secretary, Jay Smith for chief ofi safety, Alan Atherley for athletic, manager and "Butch" Thompson for student Judge. Those running against these people for the "Papoose" party are: Karl Braithwalte for presl-, dent, Billy Short, vice president Helen Stokes, secretary; Sammy, Chamberlain, chief of safety; Jeff Marchant, athletic manager, and Virginia Brown, Judge. AJl of these students are very, capable of handling the offices' for which they are running and the competition will be close, so those who lose the elections should not feel badly at all. Both of the parties have gone to a lot of work making posters and other clever things to help the candidates on their ticket aU they can. The results of the election elec-tion will be announced nt the election dance which will be held this evening in the high school gymnasium. Also an outstanding assembly was presented this, morning. Both parties participated participat-ed and everyone was really j proud them. Just as they are nround of our student government. govern-ment. Sunday morning Mr. Miles, took a group of students to Par-owan Par-owan where they presented a lovely program at the Second Ward LDS Sacrament meeting. Spiritual talks were given by Margene Hansink. Carl Palmer and Mr. Miles, and musical numbers num-bers were given . Cynthia Williams Wil-liams sang a solo, "Teach Me To Pray" and a French Horn trio composed of Ada Marie Wood, Phyllis Chatterley and Sherrie Seegmiller, rvlayed "O. My Fath-er" Fath-er" The people of the ward were very appreciative and also lm- pressed. Mr. Norman Adams, one I of our teachers in Junior High, Is a counsellor In the Parowan Second Ward. The students of the school are V now enjoying the new Home Economics and Industrial Aits, departments. It makes the-clasfes the-clasfes twice as Interesting t have these new places in whlclr to work, and Mr. Chatterley and Mrs. Carpenter are enjoying them Just as much as are the-students. |
