Show Accidental Gun Shot Proves Fatal To Anita Barton McBride, Paragonah. Early Monday Mrs. Anita Barton McBride, 61, native of Paragonah, died in the Iron County Hospital Monday af-j ternoon from an accidental gun- shot wound suffered at her homei earlier in the day. She was fa-i tally injured when a .22 calibre rifle apparently discharged as she was moving In the course of her housework. The bullet struck her In the chin coursing upward through the head. Her husband, Albert Roy McBride, Mc-Bride, who was working in the yard, heard the shot and rushing rush-ing to the house found his wife lying unconscious on the floor. She was rushed to the hospital In Cedar City but did not regain consciousness before death came during the afternoon. Mrs. McBride was born In Paragonah Para-gonah on Dec. 23. 1894, a daughter daugh-ter of William Penn and Lovlnna Davenport Barton. She attended school In Paragonah and married mar-ried Mr. McBride on Aug. 12, ' 1914. She was very active in music circles of her home town durln her life. As a young ladv she served as organist and pianist for all church auxiliary organizations, organiza-tions, and throughout her life acted as an accompanist In public pub-lic functions, was ward organist for many years, and had taught music to manv young eonle. Also an active church worker she had served as counselor, as teacher and organist In the Primary; Pri-mary; teacher, chorister and organist or-ganist in the Rellpf Society, and as teacher In the M I A. She W survived bv her husband. hus-band. Paragonah: flva Awe Mrs. Barbara Dallev. Mrs. Helen Barton and Doris McKrloV. Para-gonah: Para-gonah: Mrs. Lois Orton. Phoenix Ariz., and Mrs. Thelma Mosdell Cedar City. Also surviving are 16; grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Melva1 ! Barton, Mrs. Zolma Robb, and Rulon Barton, Paragonah; Wm. j Fenn. Jr., and Burrus Barton. Cedar Ce-dar City; Mrs. Rachel Holyoak. and Kenneth Barton, Milford, and Mrs. Bertha howalter, Mes-quite, Mes-quite, Nev. Funeral services will be held in Paragonah this afternoon, Thursday, with Bishop Victor R. j Robinson presiding. Burial will be In the Paragonah cemetery under the direction of the Southern South-ern Utah Mortuary. . |
