Show Dr. Tohn Beal Elected to Dinner Club Helm Members of the board of directors direc-tors of the Escalante Knife and Fork Club met Monday evening to name a president and vice president of the board for the coming year, and to lay plans for the 1956-57 series' of lectures. Dr. John Beal, local dentist, was elected president of the club for the coming year, with Oscar J. Hulet, principal of the North Elementary School, named as vice president. At the close of the meeting Dr. Beal appointed York Jones to serve as secretary of the club. Mr. Jones has served in that capacity for the past two years. Dr. Beal will succeed Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth as president, and Mr. Hulet will succeed Art Hlg-bee, Hlg-bee, who has served as vice president pres-ident under Dr. Farnsworth. Dr. Beal, A. C. Hatch of Parowan, and Richard Jones of Newcastle, were elected to the board of directors di-rectors last week in balloting by the membership. They succeed Mr. Hlgbee, Roy L. Halversen and Patrick H. Fenton on the board. Other members of the board are Dr. Farnsworth. George Croft. Reed Berrett, Arthur Gardner and E. W. Southwlck. Meeting with the board Mon-day Mon-day night was E. Von Riesen, To-peka, To-peka, Kan., representative of the national organization, who conferred con-ferred with the members on a speakers list for the coming year. Dr. Beal announced that six outstanding speakers were selected, se-lected, and that the complete program will be announced as soon as dates are definitely established. |
