Cedar City Resident Dies of Heart Ailment Louise Holland, 84, a prominent promin-ent seamstress of Cedar City for "many years, died in Salt Lake City late Monday night, Jan. 10, after a short illness from pren-monia. pren-monia. She had been visiting in Salt Lake City for the past month, and was stricken with pneumonia pneumon-ia Jan. 6, succumbing Jan. 10. Miss Holland was born April 23, 1870 in River Falls, Mass., a daughter of John and Emma Goodfellow Holland, and came West with her family when only on-ly a few years of age. The fam-. ily settled at Silver Reef where Mr. Hollard worked for a number of years. Since coming to southern south-ern Utah, Miss Hollland had spent practically her entire life here, engaging in the profession of sewing, and gaming considerable consid-erable recognition for her cho-cheting cho-cheting and for hem-stitching, which she engaged In until only a few weeks ago. She was a sister of the late John Holland and Mrs. F. W. (Sarah) Middleton of Cedar City, ! and is survived only by two stepbrothers, step-brothers, Thomas Dix, Salt Lake City. and William Dix, Provo, and a number of nephews and nieces in this area. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted In the First Ward chapel at 2 p. m. Saturday. Friends may call at the Southern Utah Mortuary Mor-tuary from 5 to 8 p. in. Friday. |
