Show Junior Chamber Announces DSA Banquet Speaker As a highlight of the annual observance of Jaycee Week, January Jan-uary 14 through 2 the Cedar City Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce will stage its Distinguished Distinguish-ed Service Award Banquet Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Jan. 19 at Hotel El Es-calante, Es-calante, according to A. L. Thompson. The DSA banquet, however, will be the highlight of the week's activities. Elliot Cameron, superintendent superintend-ent of Sevier County School, and a former student at the Branch Agricultural College, will be featured fea-tured speaker for the evening, Thompson announced. ' Some young man in the community com-munity will also be presented with the Distinguished Service Award. This award Is presented annually to the outstanding young man of the community between be-tween the age oL 21 and 36, who has contributed most to the betterment bet-terment of the community and other worthwhile projects. Also a number of awards and certificates to businesses who have assisted the Jaycees during dur-ing the past year, will be presented, pre-sented, Thompson stated. Tickets for the DSA banquet have been placed on advance sale and can be purchased from any member of the Jaycees. Everyone is Invited to attend the function, Thompson pointed out. Also, partners are Invited this year, in keeping with an adopted policy of last year. In charge of arrangements is Robert Llnford, immediate past president of the Cedar City Jaycees. Jay-cees. Complete organization and final fi-nal plans for Jaycee Week will be made at a membership meeting meet-ing this evening, Thursday, Mr. Thompson stated. The meeting is scheduled for 8 p. m. at Sullivan's Sulli-van's Cafe on South Main. All members have been encouraged to attend. |
