Show Fire Dept. to Get Projector For Training Films The City Council at its meeting Thursday evening, Jan. 6, approved ap-proved the purchase of a motion picture projector for the city fire department to be used in the department de-partment training program. Many educational films on various var-ious type fire fighting are available avail-able to the department, but since no projector has been available the members have been unable to take advantage of this type of visual training. The new projector will now be purchased for he department at a total cost of $337.50, Mayor Arnold Anderson reports. Another purchase approved at the meeting of the council was given as a means of assisting in the enforcement of the so-called "Greenriver Ordinance," which prohibits house to house selling in the city. Two signs informing the public of the Greenriver Ordinance, Ordi-nance, will be purchased and erected at the north and south entrances of the city in order that peddlers or canvassers will be aware of the fact that the ordinance ordi-nance is in force. Approval was given for expenditure ex-penditure of $100 from the City Shade Tree Commission funds for removal of trees from Main Street at 200 South Streo.t. Property owners were removing trees in order to facilitate building on the property, and he city cooperated cooperat-ed to the extent of $100 to assist in the removal so that all trees, which had become hazardous, could be removed at the same time. |
