Show Hustling Bronco Quintet Fails To Impair Ability of Ricks Vikings Coach Cleo Petty and his College Col-lege of Southern Utah Bronco basketball team opened up the Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Conference, (ICAC) at the Memorial Mem-orial Fieldhouse Friday and Saturday. Sat-urday. The 1954-55 Collegiate rules concerning the foul pitch, particular part-icular the bonus shots, payed off for the Broncos in the opening open-ing evening of play against the Boise Broncos but went against the local boys Saturday evening when they entertained kicks Vikings of Rexburg, Ida. Friday evening the CSU Broncos Bron-cos and the Bosie Broncos each scored 24 fieldgoals which gave each of the teams a total from the field of 48 points. But the CSU boys were "on" at the free throw line and put in 24 fouls in 39 tries compared to 16 points in 33 tries for the Bosie crew, spelling the eight point margin win, 72 to 64. Jump Into Lead .Saturday evening the hot shot-ing shot-ing Ricks Vickings took an early lead and although they were never headed the game was one of the most interesting played by the College this year. The final score read in favor of Ricks 81 to 75, a six point margin. Here again, however, the two teams scored indentical fieldgoals and In the second half of play Ray Robinson, ball hawk and hustling hust-ling forward for the Broncos, hustled hus-tled the Broncos back Into the ball game In a one man demonstration demon-stration of determination. Cooley, Robinson and John-, Wood accounted for almost all of the scoring for the Broncos. Between the three men they scored 55 of the Broncos' total of 75. Wood was instrumental in the scoring In the final four minutes min-utes of play.
