Show Drama Production j Class Presents Readings from Poe Featuring outstanding dramatic drama-tic material by Edgar Allen Toe, the first production of Theatre Matinee for the winter quarter at the College of Southern Utah was presented Wednesday afternoon. after-noon. The program was prepared by the class in fundamentals of acting, under the leadership of Richard M. Rowley, speech and drama director at the college. Following an introduction to the illustrious poet and author, Poe, by Shirlene Jensen, Enterprise, Enter-prise, one of his most celebrated short stores, "The Tell -Tale Heart," was read by Kelland Terry, Ter-ry, Rockvllle. Then three of Poe's greatest poems were given, "To One in Paradise," by Carol Williams, Ce-day Ce-day City; "A Dream Within A Dream," by Carleen Brown, Elsl-nore, Elsl-nore, and "Ulalume," by Stephen Rozelle, Springdale. Climaxing the afternoon was the reading of Poe's short story, "The Pit and the Pendulum," by Earlene Steele, Delta. Theare Matinee Is a weekly presentation of the speech and drama department, held in the Bootstrap Theatre. Everyone is invited and there is no admission admis-sion charge. |
