Show New Processing Plant For Meats To Be Established A new wholesale and meat processing pro-cessing business will be established estab-lished in Cedar City by the end of the month, Linford Orton, owner own-er of Lin's Meat Market, has an-nouncedf an-nouncedf The firm, to be operated by Mr. Orton, Floyd Matheson, meat cutter cut-ter of long experience, and A. C. Christensen, Newcastle livestock live-stock feeder, will he known as the Southern Utah Wholesale Meat Processing Co., and will offer service to the entire area. The three men have leased a portion of the Utah Poultry and Farmers Cooperative building at GOO North 200 West In Cedar Citv, known as the turkev nlant. and are now busy remodeling in preparation for the opening of the new busincw on or before Feb. 1. Ideal facilities. Including quick freeze and storage rooms, are available at the plant, .Mr. Orton stated. Under the organization of the new firm, Mr. Orton will continue to operate the meat market on Main Street, Mr. Matheson will manage the plant, and handle the processing, and Mr. Christensen Chris-tensen will be in charge of the buying and feeding. Most of the beef handled will be purchased and fattened by the firm, while othr types of meat products will be on a purchase and processing basis for the time being. Custom processing of all types will be a feature of the service offered by the new firm. |
