Show BERYL NEWS NOTES The people of this area enjoyed en-joyed a meeting with representatives represen-tatives of the state fish and game department one night last week. The feature of the meeting was a talk on soil conservation, and the showing of movies by Lee Kay, educational advisor of the state department. Two films were shown by Mr. Kay, one on "Pell-" can Life," and anoter on a trip from Cedar Breaks down through the narrows to Zion National park. Accompanying Mr. Kay were game wardens Vern Leavitt and J. T. Moyes; Claud Macfar-lane, Macfar-lane, representing the Federal Wildlife department; Ranger Cook of Enterprise, and Reed Henderson, manager of the Mammoth Mam-moth Fish Hatchery. The group was in the vicinity making a deer count and made the trip down to Beryl for the meeting, which was sponsored by the Beryl Wildlife federation. A dutch lunch was served to all who attended at-tended the affair. Edwin L. Peterson, head of the political science and history department de-partment of the Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural college at Cedar City, gave an interesting talk on Russia at the Beryl school house Thrusday evening. He was accompanied by Mrs. D. C. Dix, representing the Cedar City Coordinating council. J. W. Porter, who has been in a hospital in Provo for some time passed away this week and will be buried in Las Vegas. He and his wife Ethel, have a farm in the Escalante valley. The Sunday School party scheduled for last Tuesday night was postponed because of bad weather and extremely muddy roads. |
