Show Granddaughter Wins Scholastic Honor at Nevada U. Miss Dawn F. Pershall of Las Vegas, Nev., granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lawrence of Cedar City, recently won the highest distinction in scholarship with one exception, to be achieved achiev-ed at the University of Nevada in Reno, when she was elected to Phi Kappa Phi, national honorary honor-ary society. Miss Pershall was one of only eight students in a senior class of 150 to, be chosen as a member mem-ber of trie organization which has chapters in many of the best known American universities and colleges. The only greater honor in studies stu-dies won at the university is the gold medal, awarded at commencement com-mencement to the student who has the highest average in his college work during his four years of study. Miss Pershall Is enrolled In the college of arts and sciences and is studying business administration. administra-tion. She is attending the university uni-versity on a $4000 scholarship won in Las Vegas four years ago. In her seven semesters of college col-lege she has been named to the honor roll four times and has maintained an average of 3.44. |
