Show Utah State Jaycee Convention Set for May 2-4 Final plans for the annual Utah Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce convention, scheduled to be held in Cedar City May 2, 3 and 4 were completed Sunday in Salt Lake City when a delegation of local Jaycees met with state officers and placed their stamp of approval on the three day agenda as drawn up by Burns K. Sherratt, general chairman. Plans, as approved, include a get-together social and dance on Friday evening, May 2 on the lawn in the rear of El Escalante hotel, convention headquarters; a general business session at the Pnrlfo thoatro Rntnrd'jv mnrnincr " U . ... IllWllllllgi a candidates luncheon Saturday noon, and a general session in the public school auditorium on Saturday afternoon. The "Old Timers" group of Cedar City, composed of former members of the Cedar City Jaycees who have passed the age limit, will be host for the annual Old Timers party Sunday night. The final business session of the three-day meet will be held Sunday morning in the public school auditorium where election of new officers will be held and the selection of the next convention con-vention city will be made. The Inaugural banquet will be held Sunday afternoon in order that delegates to the convention will be able to get an earlier start for home. The Cedar City Jaycee-Ette club will be host to all Jaycee-Ettes Jaycee-Ettes and lady guests at a special spe-cial entertainment planned ' for Saturday afternoon according to Mrs. Sheldon Olds, club president. presi-dent. Attending the quarterly state board meeting of the Utah Junior Jun-ior Chamber of Commerce . from Cedar City were club president Keith Cripps, Mr. Sherratt, Sheldon Shel-don Olds, Jay Hall and Elton Stratton. Assisting Mr. Sherratt on the general convention committee will be Whitney Jensen and Sheldon Olds. Mr. Jensen will be in charge of reservations and lodging, and Mr. Olds will be in charge of publicity. According to advance inquiries inquir-ies and reservations made already alrea-dy it is expected that a record crowd of Jaycees will attend the convention, Mr. Sherratt stated. ; : |
