Show Kiwanians Receive Visit By District Official The Kiwanis Club of Cedar City received a vote of confidence from Kiwanis Lt. Governor Earl Hills of Price, Monday night, when he made an official visit to the club. Gov. Hills, praised the Cedar City civic group for the fine work that it has accomplished in the community and the spirit the1 members invoked in the meet-5 ings and undertakings. As a part of his visit he asked President Rymal G. Williams to give a short report of the activities acti-vities of the club since the beginning be-ginning of the year. Dr. Williams in his report extended a thanks to the various committee chairmen chair-men for their work and the many ways in which duties were carried car-ried out. Chairmen Report In reporting the activities he called on four committee chairmen chair-men to give detailed reports. They included Bob Bradshaw, chairman of the Support of Churches committee ; Blaine Standifird, chairman of the Underprivileged Un-derprivileged Children committee; commit-tee; Therol McArthur, chairman of the Boys and Girls committee and Eldon Yergensen, chairman of the Business and Public Affairs Af-fairs committee. Special mention was made of the club bulletin, Gene Woolf, chairman, not only by the president presi-dent but by Hills as well, and the Key Club work that has been carried on by Elwyn Halterman, chairman of that committee. The reports of activities in the business meeting proved a stimulus stim-ulus to members' and furnished adequate material for the semiannual semi-annual report that is filed by Gov. Hills. At the close of the meeting Hills expressed his belief be-lief that the Cedar City club is one of the best in the entire Utah-Idaho district. Gov. Hills arrived by plane late Monday afternoon and departed Tuesday morning to return to Price. It was his first visit to the Cedar City club. |
