Show Speaker Duo Provide Program For Lions Club Meet Edwin L. reterson, known principally prin-cipally as Eddie in this area, was the principal speaker at the regular reg-ular meeting of the Cedar City Lions Club Monday noon. Eddie has been serving as executive secretary to Congressman Henry Aldous Dixon in Washington, D. C. since the first of the year. Eddie directed his remarks mainly to two subjects. First he discussed the highly important Colorado River Bill and second the Foreign Relations problem of the United States. In addition he hit several highlights of happenings hap-penings in the national capital. Musical entertainment for the luncheon meeting was furnished by Kay Heywood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Heywood. In addition to this regular program, pro-gram, Dee Cowan, manager of the Cedar City Little League All-stars gave a talk regarding the recent trip to Santa Monica, Calif., highlighting high-lighting some of the events'. He also expressed his thanks to the club and to the community for the fine support shown the little leaguers during their tournament competition. A brief discussion of the Lions park development was also heard but no action was taken, according accord-ing to publicity director, Morris Roberts. Plans' for development in that area will be announced in the near future following a planning plan-ning session with the city recreation recrea-tion department, Roberts said. |
