Show Death Takes Former Parowan High School Music Teacher A former music instructor at the Parowan High School, Charles J. Engar, 85, died at a Salt Lake hospitaj last Thursday of causes incident to age, and funeral services ser-vices were held for him in the Harvard Ward chapel in Salt Lake City on Monday noon. Mr. Engar taught music in the local high school about 1029 and 1930 and was active in leading choral organizations in the L D S wards while here. He directed an M I A male chorus here which traveled to Salt Lake City to win first place in an All-Church maje chorus contest during the June v Conference of the Mutual Improvement Im-provement Association. After tak-rus tak-rus first place in the contest the Parowan chorus sang the contest number "Invictus'," over KSL radio. ra-dio. 'Mr. Engar was an active member mem-ber of the L D S church and composed com-posed music for a number of songs in use by L D S auxiliary organizations. |
