Show Francis Betenson Named Bond Chairman 1 1 y I. ... 1 ' "r : k A . , 1 FRANCIS W. BETTENSON Appointment of Francis W. Betenson, Bet-enson, assistant cashier of the Bank of Southern Utah, Cedar City, as Iron County Chairman of the savings bonds division, U. S. Treasury Department, was announced an-nounced today by Frederick P. Champ, Logan, state chairman. The new Iron County chairman Is a graduate of the Utah State Agricultural College at Logan. He served in the United States Air Force from 1942 to 191G, and has been associated with the Bank of Southern Utah since 1918. He is a former city treasurer, treasur-er, and is active In the American Legion, Red Cross and other civic and church organizations. He is married and has two children. In accepting the volunteer post, which has been unassigned for several months', Mr. Betenson Beten-son said: "Being closely associated asso-ciated with the economy of this area and realizing the Importance Import-ance of savings bonds to our economic stability, I am proud and anxious to participate in the promotion of this bond thrift program. I believe that more people peo-ple should fully understand the advantages of U. S. Savings bonds as a safe, liquid casTi reserve." re-serve."
