Show Popular University Singing Group to Appear Here One of the outstanding vocal groups in the state, the University Universi-ty of Utah Male Chorus, will appear ap-pear in Cedar City next Tuesday, Mar. 23, while on a tour of the southern portion of the state. The chorus will appear at the public school auditorium at 9 a. m. Tuesday, and everyone interested is invited to attend. The prominent GO voice ensemble ensem-ble is conducted by John Marlowe Mar-lowe Nielson, who is now In his sixth year as director of the aggregation. ag-gregation. The program on tour will be especially selected from a repertoire reper-toire of fine choral music ranging rang-ing from magnificent Palestrina, Peri, and Brahms to popular Rogers Ro-gers and Hammerstein and Gershwin. Special soloists Include Anne Bennion, Patricia Pettit, Calvin Crawford, Ronald Read, Ray Bingham, and pianists Paul Ban-ham Ban-ham and Newel Kay Brown. Also featured along with the male chorus will be the University Universi-ty of Utah Nonettes, outstanding girl ensemble, Sigma Pi male quartet and the University of Utah mixed quartet. These groups are very popular in Salt Lake musical circles. |
