Show Cerebral Palsied Children Aided By Seal Funds The 1951 campaign for the sale of Easter Seals to help Utah's cerebral palsied children gets officially of-ficially under way March 18, and will cortinue until Easter Sunday, Sun-day, April 18. Thousands of Easter Seals have been sent to residents throughout the state. Over 92 of all money collected will remain in Utah, with less than 7 being used for administration. Easter Seal Contributions made possible these extensive accomplishments accom-plishments this year: 3721 physical physi-cal therapy treatments, 3012 occupational oc-cupational therapy treatments, 4120 speech and hearing correction correc-tion treatments, and 120 classes in special education. One hundred hun-dred thirty-six patients received hospitalization. There were 104 pre-school classes for children, braces, crutches, wheel chairs and other appliances were provided, pro-vided, all without cost to the patient. pa-tient. During the year employment employ-ment was found for 74 handicapped handicap-ped persons. The Utah Society for Crippled Children, sponsors of the Easter Seal campaign, receives its entire en-tire proceeds from the sale of Easter Seals and donations, mostly during the month preceding preced-ing Easter Sunday. They receive no financial aid from any federal, fed-eral, state, or city government. There is no solicitation during the year with radio or television appealls. No collections are made in motion picture theatres, rallies, ralli-es, th? society is entirely dependent depend-ent upon the sale of Easted Seals and contributions. |
