Show Last Rites Honor Memory of John Edward Houchen Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed in the Third Ward chapel Saturday Sat-urday afternoon by Bishop Austin Aus-tin Heywood for John Edward Houchen, 67, lifelong resident of Cedar City. Mr. Houchen died at his home on Mar. 9 following a lingering illness. Speakers at the services were Samuel F. Leigh and I. E. Riddle with brief remarks by Bishop Heywood. Invocation was by La-Vand La-Vand Bauer, benediction by C. William Macfarlane, and the dedicatory prayer by Max Heap. Prayer at the mortuary prior to the services was by John Ash-worth Ash-worth of Beaver. Prelude and postlude music was by Mrs. Luana Riddle, and the musical program consisted of a vocal solo, "Abide With Me," by Christine Houchen, accompanied accompan-ied by Alan Seegmiller; a vocal solo, "In The Garden," by Bert Carpenter, accompanied by Mrs. Beth Leigh, and the closing song, "Lead Me Gently Home," by a mixed quartet composed of Mrs. Lois McConnell, Mrs. Zelma Lunt, C. William Macfarlane and Ray Cosslett, accompanied by Mrs. Leigh. |
