Show Miss Cedar City Pageant Date Postponed Because of a conflict in scheduling sched-uling the use of the public school auditorium the Miss Cedar City Pageant, originally set for Mar. 24, has been postponed to Monday, Mon-day, Mar. 29, it was announced by Alex Angelo, chairman of the affair. During the week two more candidates can-didates have been signed in the gala pageant to vie for the coveted covet-ed title of Miss Cedar City. The Lions Club have selected Virginia Vir-ginia Rose, talented singer from the College of Southern Utah as ite representative in the event while the Utah Parks Company have signed vivacious Jane Oker-lund Oker-lund to vie in its behalf. These plus Carol Ann Parry, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, and Darlene May, a candidate for Thompson Office Machines have thus far been signed in the pageant. pa-geant. Besides the actual participation of the young ladies in their presentation pre-sentation on the evening of Mar. 29. a parade will be held on that day to induce local interest in the affair. At the auditorium at 8 p. m. the young ladies will appear in formal attire, bathing suits, and will also present a short talent skit in their efforts to win the crown of Miss Cedar City. Outstanding prizes have been arranged for the pageant, and it promises to be one of the most successful ever staged by the Junior Chamber of Commerce. |
