Show Chamber Launches Annual Membership Drive The annual Chamber of Commerce Com-merce membership campaign was opened this vtoek with let-i ters asking for support mailed to, all 1953 members and many prospective pro-spective members as well. After the individuals and firms have been given the opportunity to mail in their membership dues, follow-up work will be done by committees to encourage additional addi-tional support for the civic betterment bet-terment program undertaken each year by the organization. In the letter, Dr. John Boal, president, points out that if the Chamber of Commerce is to accomplish ac-complish its work in promoting Cedar City, the officers must have funds with which to operate, oper-ate, and with memberships the only source of revenue It is important im-portant that a large membership be attained. President Real also points out that the officers work on the theory that the tourist dollars left in Cedar City, or a new payroll pay-roll established, benefits all citizens citi-zens directly or indirectly. He states that "in order that we may continue our work in promoting trade, industry, travel and the general improvement of our city, we appeal to overvono to join with other loyal citizens of the community in affiliating with this civic organization." |
