Show Amateur Art Exhibit Brings to Light Many Promising Paintings by 25 Local Citizens The Butcher, the Baker, the Candlestick Maker.-you've heard I the story before. In the junior division of the Carnegie public library in Cedar City a cross-section of local talent tal-ent are presently displaying their achievement in the art world. Under the sponsorship of the library li-brary committee an amateur art exhibit Is presently hanging in the library and it is truly a wonder won-der that so many people of so many dillerent walks of life could produce such an outstanding outstand-ing exhibit. Cal Bates, art instructor at the College of Southern Utah and a teacher to a number of artists who have paintings handing in the exhibit, has stated that it is truly an outstanding achievement. achieve-ment. The Library committee also suggests that patrons drop into the library and view the work of neighbors and fellow townsmen. Sizeable Display Over 55 paintings are presently present-ly hanging in the exhibit and other amateur artists are invited to briii;; their works to the ex- Cox, Mrs. Donald Ford, Mrs. Al-drich Al-drich Thorley, Mrs. George Le-Baron, Le-Baron, Mrs. Leo Larson, Mrs. Howard Stokes, Mrs. Ruby Smith, Lillian B. Corry, Kenna Larson, Allen Bauer, Norman Romberger, Conway LeBaron, George LeBar-on, LeBar-on, Jr., Willard Stratton, Mary Buhanan, Oscar Hulet, Katherine Dotson Wilson, Iiuth L. Jensen, Roger Munford, L. H. Stewart and Rex Holland. Typical surroundings comprise most of the paintings with scenes from Cedar mountain, the Old Mill in Cedar Canyon and a host of other familiar landmarks.
