Show Managers, Coaches Selected for Cedar's Little League The governing board and the managers of the Cedar City Little League, with president Cleo Petty in charge, met last Thursday evening eve-ning to complete arrangements for the coming season. Managers of the four sponsoring teams were approved as well as an umpire um-pire staff of 14 and drawings for league scheduling were made. Managers for the coming year were approved as follows: Lions, Dee Cowan, manager; Wes Mul-lctt, Mul-lctt, coach; L'lks, Al Jensen, man-ager; man-ager; Steve Asmus, coach; Ki-wanis, Ki-wanis, Therol McArthur, manager; mana-ger; Klien Rollo coach; Rotary Klloyd Marchant manager and Dean Williams, coach. Al Jensen, who was put in charge of an umpire selection committee at the previous meeting meet-ing presented 14 names to complete com-plete a staff of umpires for the summer recreational program. Each of the men had signed a contract and indicated that they would buy the necessary equipment equip-ment to distinguish themselves from the players. Ad Anderson, was voted in as the umpire-in-chief lor the season and Mr. Jensen Jen-sen will conduct an umpire's school prior to the beginning of the league season. J Those approved include: Daryl Shumway, LaVell Chamberlain, Bill Dover, Arthur Haven. Robert Reed. Douglas I. tint, John Quinn, Howard Mace. Robert Faddis, Yorke Nelson, Homer Starr, Bill Herrald. Bud Fullmer, Haldow Christensen and Elwyn Halter-man. Halter-man. Plans were also formulated to take out on insurance policy that would cover all of the boys participating par-ticipating during the year. Either a policy with the Little League or a similar policy from a local organization or-ganization will be in force before be-fore the beginning of practice sessions. Schedules were drawn up and j the league will get under way i Tuesday. June 1. The first game of the schedule will pit the Lions ' against the Kiwanis, it was revealed re-vealed by the drawing. |
