Show Lee Empey Elected Prexy of City's Pony League Lee Empey, enthusiastic and energetic follower of recreational recreation-al facilities in Cedar City, was elected to the presidency of the Pony League board of directors at a meeting held Tuesday evening. eve-ning. At the first meeting of the board, called for the purpose of reorganizing the Pony League, several items of business and operation op-eration were discussed. Rudy Iverson, secretary, announced an-nounced that plans to apply for a national franchise this year are going ahead and application has already been filed. This franchise will enable the league to participate parti-cipate on a national basis, similar sim-ilar to the Little League of last year, if it so desires. Team sponsors will remain the same as last year, according to the secretary, with the Utah Parks Company, Southern Utah Power, Utah Construction and Arden Dairy to handle the teams this year. Leo Cahoon, player-agent for the Pony Legaue, announced that application cards for the youths who plan to participate this year can be obtained at his office at Stevens and Co. Those who were registered last year will not need to register again, but Little League players this year must register before they will be able to participate. |
