Show Gail Lindstrom To loin College Faulty Announcement was made by Dr. Daryl Chase, Director of the College of Southern Utah, this morning, that Gael Lindstrom, outstanding Utah artist, will be at CSU during the school year 1954-55 as instructor in art. Mr. Lindstrom, recognized as one of Utah's leading artists, particularly in water color, has had considerable success also as an instructor and will undoubtedly undoubt-edly add considerable emphasis to art at the college in the next year. He was instructor in art in the Cedar City high school during dur-ing 1952-53, and during the current cur-rent year is teaching in the Granite School District in Salt Lake City. He gained enthusiastic enthusi-astic suport while in Cedar City, and has been equally successful success-ful at Granite. Mr. Lindstrom will join the CSU staff for the coming summer sum-mer school session, after which he plans to do advanced study in California until the opening of school in September. Miss Mary L. Bastow, who has been in the art department ol the college for many years, and who has been working at the school this year under an emeri-tis emeri-tis status, will undoubtedly continue con-tinue under a similar statusdur-ing statusdur-ing the coming year. Local art patrons, who were sorry to see Mr. Lindstrom have sorry to see Mr. Lindstrom take leave of the local school system last summer, are enthusiastic about his return to Southern Utah as an art insturctor at the college. |
