When we go to the store, we could plan our trips more carefully i i to economize on the number of trips we make. These are just a few suggestions. sug-gestions. The important thing is that we investigate the problem and do something. If each of us would choose just one thing, it would make a major difference. Let's DO IT! Cara Olson Kaysville Dear Editor: We moved to Utah last summer, and we love it here. The people are great, the schools are good, and the mountains are beautiful. I hope we stay here for a very long time because we think it's a great place to raise a family. The one thing that is a concern to me is the pollution problem here. It's a shame to have the beautiful Salt Lake Valley covered with a brown layer of smog. This haze is not only aesthetically ugly, but of course, is a sign of an obvious health hazard. I feel that we as Utahns need to catch up with the rest of the world and even be a leader in showing our concern for the environment. Utahns are leaders in so many other ways and should be commended. The people here are such a good example ex-ample of clean living and strong moral and family values. Let's also be an example for good in "saving our planet." As families we could do some simple but effective things to help with this problem. One thing we could do is called precycling, which means to avoid buying things in the first place that are harmful to the environment and are not recyclable, such as plastic. We could also get A r |
